Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes how the lango.sh mobile application (Android package sh.lango.app; iOS bundle sh.lango.app) and the website at lango.sh (collectively, “lango.sh”, “we”, “us”) collect, use, share, and protect information about you.

1. Who operates lango.sh

lango.sh is operated by an independent developer based in the European Union. For any privacy-related enquiry, contact: support@lango.sh.

2. What we collect

• Account information. When you sign in, we receive your email address and a stable user identifier from your chosen identity provider (Google or Apple). We do not receive or store your Google/Apple password.
• Content you submit. The text you write in your native language, the text you write in the target language, and any context or chat messages you add.
• Analysis history. The AI-generated feedback on your submissions, associated with your account so you can review past practice sessions.
• Preferences. Language settings, theme, and other app configuration you select.
• Technical data. Minimal diagnostic data (crash reports, error logs, coarse device/OS metadata) used to keep the app stable. We do not embed third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, camera input, microphone input, calendar data, health data, or financial data.

3. How we use your information

• To provide the core feature of the app: analysing your writing and returning feedback.
• To keep your practice history so you can review it across devices.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the app (bug fixes, performance).
• To respond to support requests.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your content to train third-party general-purpose AI models.

4. Third parties that process data for us

We rely on the following sub-processors. Each one is bound by its own privacy terms and acts on our instructions:

• Supabase, Inc. — authentication, user database, and storage of practice history. Privacy policy.
• Google LLC — sign-in with Google and Google Play distribution. Privacy policy.
• Apple Inc. — Sign in with Apple and App Store distribution. Privacy policy.
• AI language-model provider. We send the text you submit to a large-language-model provider in order to generate feedback. The provider processes the text only to return the analysis; it does not use your content to train its public models. The current provider is disclosed on request via support@lango.sh.

5. Where data is stored

Personal data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in the European Union. Sub-processors may process data in other jurisdictions; in all cases we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for cross-border transfers.

6. How long we keep data

• Account information: kept while your account is active.
• Content and analysis history: kept while your account is active.
• Diagnostic data: automatically purged within 90 days.

When you delete your account, all associated content and history are deleted immediately.

7. Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Object to, or restrict, certain processing.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@lango.sh. We respond within 30 days.

8. Children

lango.sh is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Data is transmitted over TLS and stored encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is limited to the operator of lango.sh. No internet-facing service is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
